Terming her response to a ‘fatwa’ against her as “bold”, Union Minister Babul Supriyo hailed Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan for rejecting the spiritual edict.
“Everybody has the right to a lifestyle choice. No, you can still problem any fatwa on one’s alternatives. I will congratulate Nusrat, who is married now. I noticed her in Parliament; they sported bangles and vermilion; that is her choice, and she carried herself well. She is doing the right thing,” said Supriyo, an MP from West Bengal.
“Her reply to this fatwa becomes bold, and I recognize it. I am glad she rejected such diktat,” he stated.
